Healthy Basket started in 2001 as a project by the American University of Beirut to improve Lebanese farmers’ livelihood in rural areas, preserving the environment and protecting human health by adopting organic agriculture as a key strategy.

Souk el Tayeb

Souk el tayeb is the first farmers market to be held in Beirut. A market of organic, traditional and natural food products. Souk el Tayeb is a forum, a meeting place for producers of quality food products, and aware customers looking for a product of quality and respect of personal health and well being, as well as environmental health, soil air and water.

Wadi el Taym

The Women’s Cooperative Association for food processing in Wadi El Taym Rashaya strives to produce organic and natural products of excellent quality and taste by combining modern techniques with the values of the Rashaya region, social responsibility and environmental care. Wadi El Taym is owned and run exclusively by its 28 women members, and certified organic by LibanCert, Lebanon and Bio.Inspecta, Switzerland.
